@Miako and @AE:
a) I am British.
b) I am right handed for most things but left for some with a sprinkling of ambidextrous for others.
c) I always turn left in mazes, etc., because I learned the left-hand-on-the-wall trick for solving (most) hedge mazes as a child. I also use this for computer games and so on. When trying to see everything in a building, I go left first.

... whoever heard that handedness thing is wrong.

Americans turn right. Japanese turn left. It has to do with roads and social conventions.

Except for the blasted brits. They turn right, left right,etc.

I think if Nick had paid attention earlier he would have looked down to find some pebbles to throw when he reached the split.

@nobodez: But if she's dead, wouldn't that state have been observed by who/whatever killed her?

Also: Magic as a practical application of quantum mechanics could be the theme of some really god-awful MU fan fiction.

@AE: So now, I'm addicted to yet another thing you're writing. If you get a chance, please do me and the world a favor and write something that sucks and post it somewhere just to prove you're fallible. The idea that you're writing these things within minutes of posting them online is reminding me of that "first drafts" scene from Amadeus.

Well, I think I'm going to really enjoy Tribe. I just stepped over from ToMU, and I can't believe I didn't stay around the first time I poked in here.

I think that Nick needs to think about this path the same way he thought about the Tribe's van, the type of logic a child would have, or someone who hasn't drunk society's kool-aid about how the world works.

It's a very interesting logic. It's like that infamous cat. Is his daughter alive, or is she dead? The only way to know is to collapse the wave and see. Until then, she could still be alive.

You know, I'm going to be fascinated to find out his daughter's viewpoint on all of this. It probably bears no relation to his at all.

I think the reason Nick doesn't know whether his daughter is right- or left-handed could be an indication of a reason she left in the first place: he probably didn't give her enough attention, since he's so focused on his job. Look at how many times he's referred to his job in past entries (episodes?).
